So I was out to take some pictures on Saturday, enjoying the absolutely beautiful weather, when I encountered a squirrel.
( This one! )
She didn't seem inclined to move at all. Just stood there on the stairs of the rather broken down gazebo looking at me.
So I took a picture of her.
Then I noticed movement behind her at the top of the pillar:
( The reason she was guarding the stairs... )
I couldn't resist taking a picture of them as well, and then I left them in peace. :)
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend (long weekend or not) as well!

It says a lot of the things I couldn't quite articulate about why the romantic plotline, in particular, was disturbing. I kept coming up with the word coercion, and it was hard to put into words why it felt that way, but the poster above does an excellent job of it.

In other news, I'm thinking about trying this crochet pattern to make a couple Ewoks for the small people. They'd be thrilled, but it remains to be seen if my rusty crochet skills are up to it! LOL
Speaking of crafty Ewok things: Amuse yourselves here, if you like!

ETA: It's SNOWING. *sigh*

Since I'll be leaving quite early tomorrow morning to make it to my sister's house, and won't be online, I'm saying this now:
Merry Christmas!
(OR Happy Random Day in December! Whichever makes you happy!)
Hope you have a peaceful and enjoyable day!

So this whole "having cable in my home" thing does lead to more television watching. Though mostly On Demand, because frankly, I can't stay up till 11pm to watch shows, and a lot of the ones I like are on at 10pm! LOL

I shall be working again this weekend, so Friday isn't as awesome as Fridays usually are, but it's still pretty good. This is the last day of September, and therefore the last day that the business users of the software I test/unwillingly support will be coming to me with their bizarre and alarming questions. We rotate the task on a monthly basis so that no one goes mad and says something unkind. *grin* And also because you are supposed to do your regular work while supporting the users and there's not enough hours in the day for both.
Buh-bye users, you are co-worker's problem next week!
I got my Secret Santa assignment this morning so I'm excited and trying to come up with good ideas. A couple things are easy, but then there's so many other options - and then there's the fun of the hunt once I decide what to get. I love Christmas shopping! :)

So the school recommends Nephew The Eldest have a Netbook or Laptop of his own, and I've been asked to get him that for Christmas instead of the Flip Camcorder he asked for.
I'm thinking the Netbook is a lot closer to my original budget, but I haven't ever used one. Would one work for word-processing/basic schoolwork, or is a laptop really significantly better?
I'm doing some research, but thought I'd appeal to the collective wisdom of The Friendslist as well! :)

The Star Wars Mania continues unabated with Nephew The Younger, who was visiting this weekend. See below the cut for some pictures he posed his Stormtrooper for. (Well, I did one pose - I bet you can guess which!)

That was so weird....little more than an hour ago we had an earthquake. Nothing impressive, but noticeable. We just don't often get those!!!!
